Values/Mission Statement

Continuing a tradition of compassionate and skilled care, Redding Homes, Inc., better known as Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center, is committed to serving the health needs of the central Maine community. Its primary mission is to provide physical, social, and spiritual nurture to those in its care.

Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center sees each individual as a family member, intrinsically unique, worthy of respect and kindness. Consequently, personal interaction with the staff, combined with the current healthcare procedures, enhances physical and emotional well-being. Whatever level of care is needed from adult day care to skilled nursing, Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable home.

History/Founders

The Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center was founded in 1970 by Aiden and Zilla Redding when they purchased Water’s Boarding Home in Canton, Maine. The renovation of the home next door (which was named Maplewood) and the construction of the nursing home in 1979 completed the campus. We now serve 47 in the nursing facility, 67 in the residential care facility, and 12 in the adult day service program.

Now with over 38 years in the books and an updated name later, the Victorian Villa Rehabilitation and Living Center provides four levels of care -- skilled or rehabilitation, long term nursing, residential care, and adult day services.

This allows family members needing different levels of care to remain living together, thus preventing the trauma that could be caused by their separation.
